Although the national parliament election and the referendum will be held on the same day, the ballots for the referendum will be printed on coloured paper, said Election Commission (EC) Secretary Akhtar Ahmed.
He made the announcement during a press briefing on Tuesday (25 November) at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital.
The EC Secretary stated that postal ballots will be used for both the 13th national parliament election and the referendum. The national election ballots will have black symbols on white paper, while the referendum ballots will be printed on coloured paper with any visible ink.
He also mentioned that the voter list will be finalised by 5 December, and election preparations will proceed accordingly. The referendum will be held on the same day as the parliament election, and overseas voters will also be able to participate.
The EC Secretary added that coordination with the Government Press for ballot printing has already begun.
