A total of 832 bhori of gold ornaments have been recovered from two lockers registered under the name of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Agrani Bank.
On Tuesday night, in the presence of a magistrate, a joint team of the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue and the Anti-Corruption Commission opened locker numbers 751 and 753 at the bank’s principal branch in Dilkusha and seized the gold. This is the first time that any bank locker registered under Sheikh Hasina’s name has been officially opened.
Earlier, on 17 September, the CIC had seized the two lockers in question at Agrani Bank’s principal branch. Additionally, on 10 September, the CIC seized locker number 128 at Pubali Bank’s Motijheel Corporate Branch, located at the Sena Kalyan Bhaban.
