Kylian Mbappe almost single-handedly rescued Real Madrid from a precarious situation in their Champions League clash against Greek side Olympiacos. The 26-year-old French forward scored four sensational goals to secure a 4-3 victory for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid fell behind in the 8th minute, but Mbappe began his remarkable scoring spree in the 22nd minute. Within just 7 minutes, he had completed a hat-trick, making him the second fastest hat-trick scorer in Champions League history. The record for the fastest remains with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who scored a hat-trick in 6 minutes 12 seconds against Rangers in 2022.

After the game, Mbappe expressed his joy: “I’m very happy. Scoring goals is always a pleasure. My teammates gave excellent assists. I am fortunate to play with them. I always try to score goals, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t.”

This was Mbappe’s fifth Champions League hat-trick and his second of the current season, having previously scored a hat-trick against Kairat Almaty while at PSG. With these, he joins an elite group alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who both have eight hat-tricks in the competition. Robert Lewandowski is next with six.

In six matches this season, Mbappe has scored nine goals, topping the scorers’ chart. Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray is second with six goals. Mbappe’s form and record-setting hat-trick underline his elite status in European football.
