Airfares on the Sylhet-Dhaka route have been reduced, the Sylhet Deputy Commissioner’s Media Cell announced on Friday (28 November).
According to information from the Media Cell, based on data provided by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the airline has revised its fares on the Sylhet-Dhaka-Sylhet route, taking into account passenger service improvements and current market conditions.
Under the new fare structure, the minimum fare for the Sylhet-Dhaka route has been set at BDT 2,024 (two thousand twenty-four), which amounts to BDT 3,199 (three thousand one hundred ninety-nine) including taxes. The maximum fare has been set at BDT 7,024 (seven thousand twenty-four), reaching BDT 8,199 (eight thousand one hundred ninety-nine) with taxes included.
The fare adjustment aims to make air travel more affordable for passengers while maintaining service quality. Officials noted that this revision reflects a balance between passenger convenience and operational efficiency, ensuring that air travel remains competitive amid changing market dynamics.
Passengers are expected to benefit particularly from the lower end of the fare range, which may encourage increased travel between Sylhet and Dhaka for business, tourism, and personal purposes. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has also emphasised that the fare revision is part of ongoing efforts to improve customer experience and maintain a reliable and accessible domestic flight network.
