Trump’s Plan: Transferring Ukraine’s Occupied Territories to Putin

The United States is preparing a deal to end the Ukraine war, which includes recognising Russian control over Crimea and other occupied territories.

According to a report by The Telegraph, Donald Trump sent his special envoy Steve Whitkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner to Moscow to deliver this proposal directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Despite concerns from Ukraine’s European allies, the plan to recognise these territories is expected to move forward. A reliable source stated that the United States is not prioritising Europe’s position and reportedly said that Europeans may do as they wish.

Earlier, the Russian President stated that Washington’s legal recognition of Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk as part of Russia would be a key issue in discussions on a US peace plan.

On Friday, the Kremlin said that after urgent talks in Geneva with Ukrainian and US officials, a revised strategy to end the war had been received. The initial 28-point peace plan included US proposals for full recognition of Crimea and the eastern Donbas regions. Additionally, it proposed recognising lands behind the border lines in Russian-controlled Kherson and Zaporizhzhia in case of a ceasefire.
