College Student Killed by Passenger Bus in Faridpur

In Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur, a college student, Sahida Akter (17), was killed after being hit by a passenger bus while walking on the road. She had recently completed her HSC from the Business Education department of Bhanga Women’s College. Sahida was the daughter of Shahadat Sheikh from Swadi village in Algi Union of Bhanga.

Locals reported that on Saturday at around 9:30 am, Sahida was walking along the road when an unidentified passenger bus traveling from Dhaka to Khulna ran over her. After the incident, locals, angered by the accident, blocked traffic and damaged several vehicles.

Bhanga Highway Police Sergeant Md. Rasel Mia confirmed the incident. He stated, “Around 9:30 am, a college student was critically injured and died after being hit by a bus. We reached the scene, controlled the situation, and restored traffic. Legal action will be taken regarding the incident.”
