Awami League Rally in Hathazari

On Sunday morning in Hathazari, Chattogram, a brief rally was held by leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated groups. The rally began at Dhopa Dighi in Nandirhat.

Police and local sources reported 12 to 15 participants attended. It was led by Hasan Murad, leader of Chikandandi Union Jubo League, and included Iqbal Hossain, Joint Secretary of the banned Chattogram North District Chhatra League. The rally lasted only three minutes.

Social media videos showed the participants marching with a banner reading, ‘Hathazari Upazila Awami League and affiliated organisations, Chattogram’. Some wore helmets, while others covered their faces.

Hathazari police officer Monzur Kader Bhuiya said they are identifying and attempting to arrest those involved based on the video footage.
