Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of BNP’s Standing Committee, has confirmed that the party’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, will return to the country very soon. This announcement was made following the Standing Committee meeting held on Monday night at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Salahuddin Ahmed said, “This is a routine meeting. During this gathering, we discuss the country’s political situation, upcoming election strategies, election campaigning, and other important matters.”
He added that all information regarding BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health is with party leader AZM Zahid Hossain, who will speak on the matter.
According to party sources, the meeting included detailed discussions on the country’s recent political developments, party activities, and preparations related to upcoming elections. Attending leaders also coordinated election strategies with party members and reviewed various aspects of campaigning.
Salahuddin Ahmed mentioned that maintaining unity within the party and ensuring continuity of political activities were the main objectives of the meeting. The leaders believe that BNP’s active participation in national politics is crucial, and such meetings help strengthen the party’s position.
