Rumeen Farhana Denied Party Nomination for the Second Time

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced candidates for a further 36 constituencies after previously declaring nominations for 237 seats ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election. With this, the party has now declared candidates for a total of 272 constituencies, leaving 28 seats still vacant.

The announcement was made by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir during a press conference held at the Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Thursday (4 November) afternoon.

However, BNP’s Assistant International Affairs Secretary Rumeen Farhana has once again been denied party nomination. Notably, the party has yet to announce candidates for Brahmanbaria-2 and Brahmanbaria-6, the constituencies in her home district.

On 3 November, during another press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the party’s candidate list for 237 seats. Among these, the nomination of Kamal Zaman Molla for the Madaripur-1 constituency was suspended, with Nadira Akhter being awarded the nomination in his place.
