Three Killed in Bus–Auto-Rickshaw Collision in Faridpur’s Bhanga

Three people, including two women, were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and an auto-rickshaw in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Friday, 5 December, at around 11:45 am. The accident took place in the Purbo Sadardi area on the Dhaka–Barishal Highway.

Local residents reported that the accident occurred when an auto-rickshaw travelling from Bhanga towards Chumurdhi was struck by a speeding bus heading towards Barishal while it was attempting to pass another vehicle. Members of the Bhanga Fire Service and Civil Defence along with Bhanga Highway Police were conducting rescue operations at the scene.

Sub-Inspector Mohammad Sohel of Bhanga Highway Police confirmed the incident, stating that three people have so far been reported dead. Rescue efforts are underway, and the identities of the deceased have not yet been determined.
