Feni police have recovered the lifeless body of a court employee, identified as Enamul Haque, hanging in a thicket beside the Fatehpur railway line. The grisly discovery was made on Monday morning, 22 December, and the body was subsequently transported to Feni General Hospital morgue by officials from Feni Model Police Station.
According to police sources and local residents, the body was first spotted around the Fatehpur Overbridge, suspended from a tree. Concerned members of the public immediately alerted the authorities. Police promptly arrived at the scene, conducted preliminary investigations, and collected relevant evidence before moving the body for formal post-mortem examination.
Enamul Haque, a respected serestadar (court clerk) of the Feni District Judge’s Court, hailed from Mathiara village in Panchgachhia Union, Feni Sadar Upazila, the son of the late Fazlul Haque. He resided with his family in a rented apartment at Momena Mansion, located in the Barahipur area of Feni town.
Family members reported that Enamul had left his residence at approximately 7 a.m. that morning. Several hours later, around 11:30 a.m., they were informed of the discovery of his body. Arriving at the site, they positively identified the deceased. Relatives expressed strong suspicions that Enamul Haque may have been murdered before his body was hung. They have urged a thorough investigation and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
When approached for comment, Officer-in-Charge of Feni Model Police Station, Fauzul Azim Kalbela, stated: “Upon receiving the report, police immediately inspected the scene and retrieved the body for autopsy.
