In a decisive operation conducted by a joint task force, a 32-year-old man named Sohag has been apprehended in Homna Upazila, Comilla, in possession of two pistols and fourteen rounds of ammunition. The operation took place in the early hours of Thursday, 25 December, at the Mathabhanga area of the Upazila.

Sohag, a resident of Mathabhanga, is the son of local man Taru Mia. Sources from the Bangladesh Armed Forces have confirmed that the arrest followed receipt of confidential intelligence indicating the suspect’s possession of illegal firearms. Acting swiftly, troops from the Comilla 33 Infantry Division, in coordination with local police, conducted the pre-dawn raid that led to the capture of the armed suspect.
