Case filed Over the Death of a Jamaat Leader in a Clash in Sherpur

A violent clash during an election manifesto reading in Sherpur’s Jhenaigati Upazila has left Maulana Rezaul Karim, a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, dead. Rezaul Karim served as the Secretary of the Sri Bardi Upazila branch of the party. In response, a murder case has been filed against over six hundred individuals allegedly involved in the incident.

The case was lodged late on Friday night at 12:00 am by the deceased’s wife, Marzia Begum, at Jhenaigati Police Station.
