Weather Forecast Ahead of Election Day

With just two days remaining until the 13th National Parliament Election and the accompanying referendum, voters are keen to know what the weather will be like on polling day, 12 February. According to the latest forecast from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the nation may experience slightly cooler temperatures on the day of the election.

On Monday morning, 9 February, at 9:00 am, the BMD issued a five-day weather outlook covering 9–13 February. Regarding 12 February, the department predicts generally dry conditions across the country, with the sky expected to be temporarily partly cloudy in some regions.

Early morning fog is also likely in certain riverine areas, which could cause minor delays for commuters heading to polling stations. Night-time temperatures are expected to remain largely stable, while daytime temperatures may experience a slight dip compared with the preceding days.

For the days leading up to the election—9, 10, and 11 February—the BMD forecast suggests a gradual increase in both day and night temperatures nationwide. Following the election, on 13 February, Friday, temperatures are projected to remain largely unchanged.
