Sushmita Chatterjee Enchanted by Bangladesh Hospitality

Renowned Kolkata-based actress Sushmita Chatterjee has expressed deep admiration for the warmth and hospitality she experienced while working in Bangladesh. She stars opposite Bangladesh’s popular actor Syed Shaam Ahmed in the forthcoming film Rakshas, directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy. Recently, the production successfully completed its shooting schedule in Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone in the film’s progress.

During a break in filming, Sushmita shared her experiences with the Indian media, highlighting the professionalism and friendliness of the Bangladeshi crew. She remarked, “Working with the Bangladesh unit was truly delightful. They made me feel completely at home. From meals to every small detail on set, their attention and care were remarkable. They are exemplary hosts.”

Despite the warm reception, Sushmita faced some linguistic challenges while shooting in Dhaka. Being a native of Kolkata, she initially found the local dialect slightly difficult to grasp. However, she adapted quickly, learning key phrases to suit the script. She explained, “To meet the demands of the role, I had to master certain elements of the Dhakai dialect. I even picked up a few local expressions on set, such as ‘onek moja hoyeche’ (had a lot of fun) and ‘para diben na’ (please don’t disturb).”

Speaking of her co-star, Sushmita noted, “Shaam is wonderfully affable, and I am confident our on-screen chemistry will resonate with audiences.”

Rakshas is a film that blends romance, action, and emotional drama. According to the production team, the film is slated for release exclusively in Bangladesh during the upcoming Eid festival. Sushmita, who previously appeared alongside Kolkata superstar Jeet in a successful Eid release, expressed particular excitement about performing opposite Shaam this time.
