Teknaf Beach Reveal Mysterious Deaths

A grim discovery was reported on Wednesday morning at the Lambari and Mitapnirsra beaches in Teknaf Sadar Union, where the lifeless bodies of a young man and woman were found under suspicious circumstances. Locals who first came across the bodies immediately contacted the authorities, prompting a rapid police response.

A police team from Teknaf Model Station, led by Sub-Inspector Abdus Salam, reached the scene shortly after the alert. The officers retrieved the bodies and transported them to the station, initiating formal investigative procedures.

Jalal Ahmed, a fisherman and one of the first to discover the bodies, said, “It does not appear that the bodies drifted naturally from the sea. It is likely that they were killed elsewhere and later dumped here.” Following his report, local authorities heightened security measures and intensified monitoring in the surrounding areas.

Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Model Police Station, Mohammad Saiful Islam, stated that the identities of the deceased remained unknown as of Wednesday afternoon. The bodies were sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue, where forensic teams are preparing to conduct detailed post-mortem examinations to determine the precise cause of death.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Alok Biswas indicated that preliminary investigations suggest the victims may be of Rohingya origin. “The incident could be linked to human trafficking or a ransom-related killing,” he said. “No visible external injuries have been detected. Only the post-mortem report will confirm the true cause of death.”

Authorities have intensified search operations along nearby coastal areas and urged residents to remain calm and avoid circulating unverified information, which could hinder the investigation.
