Sheikh Md. Sazzad Ali, the Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has tendered his resignation, citing personal reasons. On Wednesday, 25 February, he signed his resignation letter and submitted it to the Police Headquarters.
Sheikh Sazzad Ali served as the 38th Commissioner of the DMP. He officially assumed office on 21 November 2024. Despite the fragile law and order situation in the capital at the time, he had previously taken charge on 5 August 2024, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining stability in Dhaka.
Sheikh Md. Sazzad Ali began his distinguished police career on 21 January 1986, joining the Bangladesh Police as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
