Eleven-Year-Old Schoolboy Found Dead in Rajshahi

Authorities in Rajshahi have recovered the body of an 11-year-old schoolboy, Adib, approximately 11 hours after he was reported missing. The discovery occurred on Monday, 2 March, at around 7:00 a.m., when local residents alerted the police after finding his body in a paddy field in Dhormapur village, Paba Upazila.

Adib was the son of Rana, a local pharmacist and businessman, who runs a pharmacy in the village. The young boy was a fourth-grade student at a nearby school, and his sudden disappearance has left the community in shock and mourning.

According to family members, Adib went missing late Sunday night, around 8:45 p.m., and despite extensive searches by his relatives, there was no sign of him. The following morning, villagers discovered his body in a paddy field and immediately informed the local authorities.

Karnahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Habibur Rahman, confirmed that the boy’s body had been sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RAMEC) for post-mortem examination. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, and the family intends to file a formal case once the legal procedures are completed. Following this, the body will be returned to the family for burial.

The incident has caused widespread grief in Dhormapur and neighbouring communities. Local residents have expressed concern over child safety, urging authorities to take steps to prevent similar tragedies.
