This Eid-ul-Fitr, music lovers across Bangladesh and West Bengal are being treated to new festive songs that celebrate both tradition and cross-border collaboration. Two highly anticipated tracks, bringing together celebrated voices and composers from both regions, are poised to capture the holiday spirit and resonate with audiences of all ages.
The first release, “Bhalo Theko”, is composed by Belal Khan and sung by Kolkata’s acclaimed Nachiketa Chakraborty. The lyrics, written by Kabir Bakul, are paired with musical arrangements by Shovon Roy, while the music video, directed by Chandan Roy Chowdhury, features models Tapas Roy Chowdhury and Prathama Das. The video will premiere on Soundtek’s YouTube channel.
Speaking about the collaboration, Nachiketa said,
“I have sung many songs in Bangladesh, but this one felt different. A song leaves its mark not just through words, but through melody. ‘Bhalo Theko’ has a charm that will linger in listeners’ minds.”
Belal Khan added,
“Nachiketa is beloved in both Bangla-speaking regions, appealing even to the younger generation. Composing for such a versatile artist was a creative challenge. Director Chandan Roy Chowdhury has created a video that beautifully complements the song’s mood. I am confident that audiences will enjoy the song and its visuals alike.”
The second release, “Eid Esechhe”, is a festive duet by Bangladeshi singer Dilshad Nahar Kona and West Bengali artist Akash Sen. Composed by Akash Sen with lyrics by Salahuddin Sagor and musical arrangement by A.N. Farhad, the song radiates the joy and celebration of Eid. The music video, directed by B.K. Shaheen, captures the vibrancy of festival celebrations and the warmth of shared festivities.
Kona shared,
“This song was made entirely to celebrate Eid. The video showcases the joy and spirit of the festival. Feedback has already been positive, and I hope it brings happiness to everyone this Eid.”
