Young Man Commits Suicide After Family Dispute

In a tragic incident in Noakhali’s Companiganj Upazila, a 22-year-old man, Abdul Quader Raju, ended his life following a familial disagreement with his mother. The incident occurred on Monday morning at the newly constructed residence of a local chilli trader in Ward No. 5 of Sirajpur Union. The deceased was the son of the late Jebel Haque.

Circumstances Leading to the Tragedy
According to family sources, Raju had been living apart from his wife, who is currently residing at her parental home following marital discord. Ten days ago, his wife gave birth to their child. Raju, eager to see the newborn, requested photographs via mobile phone. When access to images was denied, he reportedly became upset. Subsequently, without informing his mother, he consumed poison in a fit of despair after she and his sister took the child to see him.

Official Confirmation
Bimal Karmakar, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Companiganj Police Station, confirmed the incident. He stated that Raju’s body will be sent to Noakhali General Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and legal action will be taken based on the findings.
