SBAC Bank Deposits Surpass Tk110b

SBAC Bank PLC has announced that its total deposits have crossed BDT 110 billion (BDT 11,000 crore), reflecting a reported annual growth of 15 per cent. The figure was disclosed in a press release issued by the bank.

To mark the milestone, a small ceremony was held at the bank’s head office. According to the press release, Engr. Md. Moklesur Rahman, Chairman of SBAC Bank, marked the occasion by cutting a cake, formally recognising the achievement.

Senior executives and officials of the bank attended the programme. Those present included Mr. S. M. Mainul Kabir, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Md. Rabiul Islam, Additional Managing Director; and Mr. Md. Altaf Hossain Bhuyan, Deputy Managing Director. Divisional Heads and other senior officials also participated in the event.

The bank stated that crossing the BDT 110 billion deposit threshold represents a notable development in its financial position. In commercial banking, deposit mobilisation is a fundamental indicator of operational scale, as deposits provide the principal source of funds for lending activities, investment operations, and liquidity management. The reported 15 per cent growth suggests an expansion in the bank’s deposit base over the stated period; however, no further breakdown was provided in the press release regarding the structure or composition of deposits.

No additional financial indicators such as loan growth, profit performance, asset quality, or segment-wise contributions were included in the announcement. The communication remained focused solely on the deposit milestone and the internal acknowledgement of the achievement.

SBAC Bank PLC operates as a scheduled commercial bank in Bangladesh, providing services across retail, corporate, and small and medium enterprise banking segments. As in most commercial banking institutions, deposit collection remains central to its business model, supporting its lending capacity and overall balance sheet operations.

The ceremony held at the head office followed a standard corporate format often used by financial institutions to acknowledge internal milestones. It brought together members of senior management and divisional leadership in recognition of the reported achievement.
