The Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, has officially released a recruitment notification for the position of Assistant Director (General). According to the circular, the institution intends to appoint a total of 108 individuals to this cadre. It has been noted, however, that this figure is subject to adjustment, with the possibility of the number of vacancies increasing or decreasing based on the bank’s operational requirements.
The application window for these prestigious positions opened on 30 March, allowing eligible candidates to submit their credentials via the bank’s digital recruitment portal. As a cornerstone of the nation’s financial sector, the Bangladesh Bank seeks to attract highly qualified graduates to bolster its administrative and regulatory functions.
The recruitment process maintains rigorous academic standards to ensure the selection of capable officers. Prospective candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
Degree Requirements: Applicants are required to hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree (Honours) or a Master’s degree from a university recognised by the relevant authorities.
Academic Record: Candidates must possess a minimum of two first-division or equivalent GPA results in their public examinations, spanning from Secondary School Certificate (SSC) level through to their highest degree.
Restrictive Clause: The central bank has explicitly stated that a third division or class at any stage of a candidate’s academic career will result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
The central bank has defined a strict age bracket for all applicants to ensure a standardized intake of entry-level officers. Candidates must be aged between 21 and 32 years. To provide further clarity and prevent administrative errors, the bank has specified that the date of birth for any eligible applicant must fall strictly between 2 December 1993 and 28 April 2005.
Successful candidates will be appointed under the National Pay Scale 2015. The position of Assistant Director is classified as a Ninth Grade post. The financial package includes:
Basic Salary Scale: A monthly range of 22,000 BDT to 53,060 BDT.
Additional Benefits: In addition to the basic salary, officers will be entitled to various allowances and benefits as per the prevailing rules and regulations of the Bangladesh Bank. This typically includes medical allowances, house rent, and other statutory provisions associated with high-level civil service and banking roles in Bangladesh.
The entire application process is being conducted through the Bangladesh Bank’s dedicated recruitment website. Interested parties are required to complete their submissions electronically.
Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of 200 BDT is required to process the application.
Closing Date: The deadline for the submission of online applications is 27 April 2026.
Candidates are advised to complete their applications well in advance of the deadline to avoid potential technical delays due to high server traffic. Detailed information regarding the terms of service, examination syllabus, and further conditions can be accessed through the official recruitment portal at https://erecruitment.bb.org.bd/.
