Odd Signature Debut Album Launch

The Bangladeshi band Odd Signature, formed in 2017, is scheduled to formally release its debut studio album, Jagat Moncho, at an upcoming concert in Chattogram. The band initially gained recognition through its distinctive narrative songwriting style, which appealed particularly to younger audiences. Several of its early works, including Mondo, Dushshopno, Hok Abar, Ghum, Tumio Paro, and Mile Ekshathe, achieved widespread circulation and became part of many listeners’ regular music collections.

In 2024, the band’s activities were interrupted following a road accident while travelling to a concert in Sylhet. The incident resulted in the death of vocalist Piyal and left multiple members of the band seriously injured. Following this event, all musical and performance activities were suspended.

After approximately one year away from active performance, Odd Signature resumed its musical activities in May 2025 with the release of the title track from their album Jagat Moncho. This marked their return to the music scene after the hiatus. In August 2025, the band held a comeback concert, formally re-establishing its presence in live performance circuits. Since then, the group has continued both stage performances and production work on new material.

The official launch of Jagat Moncho will take place on 15 May 2026 at the Chittagong Engineers Institute. The event is being organised by Takeout and is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM. Content creator Antik Mahmud is expected to attend the programme as a guest. Tickets for the event will be available from 5 May 2026 at Takeout outlets in Chattogram, with each ticket priced at 500 Bangladeshi Taka.

The band has confirmed that Jagat Moncho will be released in an NFC-enabled CD format. During the concert, all tracks from the album will be performed live. The band is also expected to provide detailed explanations of the songs during the event, along with information on how listeners can obtain the album after its release.

A visual adaptation of the album has also been produced in the form of a comic. This project has been developed by Antik Mahmud alongside collaborators, translating the album’s narrative elements into illustrated form.

Arnob Amitabh, who serves as vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist of Odd Signature, described the album as the outcome of a prolonged creative process marked by both achievements and losses. He stated that releasing a debut album represents a significant milestone for any musical group. He also noted that the integration of music, narrative structure, and visual art through the comic adaptation has expanded the scope of the project.

Arnob further stated that all members of Odd Signature were raised in Chattogram, which is the reason behind selecting the city for the album’s official launch event. He also mentioned that the band is considering holding similar solo concerts in other divisional cities, with further details to be announced when finalised.
