Prime Bank conducts youth engagement seminar under PrimeAcademia

Prime Bank PLC, in partnership with Bangladesh University of Textile (BUTEX) and its Career Club, organised a seminar titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking” under its PrimeAcademia initiative, according to a press release.

The programme was designed to promote awareness of financial inclusion among students and to encourage stronger engagement between the banking sector and academic institutions. It also aimed to highlight the importance of financial literacy, ethical leadership, and industry-relevant competencies for young people preparing to enter the workforce.

Senior representatives from Prime Bank delivered keynote speeches and thematic presentations covering career development, responsible financial behaviour, and evolving opportunities in the banking industry.

Syed Sazzad Haider Chowdhury, in his keynote address, focused on structured career planning, informed decision-making, and the importance of developing skills aligned with the requirements of a rapidly changing financial sector. He also underscored the role of adaptability in long-term professional growth.

Shaila Abedin spoke on ethical leadership and the need for informed decision-making in professional life. She also highlighted the growing participation of women in the workforce and their contribution to building a more inclusive banking environment.

M M Mahbub Hasan emphasised financial literacy and effective money management as essential skills for youth empowerment. He also presented an overview of Prime Bank’s initiatives and progress in financial inclusion over its 31-year operational journey.

The Chief Guest, Professor Dr Md Zulhash Uddin, highlighted the importance of closer cooperation between academia and industry. He noted that such collaboration is essential for preparing students with practical knowledge and employable skills. The inaugural session was delivered by Professor Dr Md Mashiur Rahman, who welcomed participants and set the context for the discussion.

The seminar formed part of Prime Bank’s broader PrimeAcademia initiative, which seeks to bridge academic learning with practical financial education and to support youth engagement in the banking sector.
