Student Abducted in Dhaka Found Murdered in Habiganj

The body of a young man, identified as a university student abducted from Dhaka, was recovered by the police in Madhabpur, Habiganj, on Tuesday morning (5 May). The deceased, 23-year-old Md. Farhad Hossain Mahi, was found near the Andiuira Ummetunnessa High School, situated adjacent to the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway. Farhad was the son of Abdul Awal, a resident of the Chanpara area under Uttarkhan Police Station in Dhaka, and was a student at the Uttara branch of World University of Bangladesh.

Following the killing, the perpetrators allegedly transported the body approximately 150 kilometres away from the capital to dispose of it in a rural area of Habiganj, presumably to conceal evidence and evade detection.
