Fatal Night Attack Claims Young Man

A 30-year-old man was hacked to death in an alleged organised attack in Manikganj, with police suspecting that long-standing enmity may have been a factor behind the killing.

The victim, Sajib Hossain, son of Muncher Ali of Uttar Putail village, was killed late on Saturday night in Putail Union under Manikganj Sadar Upazila. The incident has heightened concerns among local residents and prompted a police investigation to identify those responsible.

According to police and local sources, Sajib was staying at the residence of Lutfor Rahman in Uttar Putail village on Saturday night. At approximately 1:30 a.m., a large group estimated to comprise between 100 and 150 individuals reportedly descended on the property in a coordinated assault.

Witness accounts indicate that the attackers were armed with sharp weapons and targeted Sajib during the attack. He sustained severe injuries and died at the scene before any medical assistance could be provided.

Police were informed of the incident and arrived at the location in the early hours of Sunday morning. Officers recovered the body and subsequently sent it to the morgue of Manikganj Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
