The legendary Bengali vocalist, Syed Abdul Hadi, has been conferred with a special institutional honour by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in recognition of his musical career spanning over five decades. This accolade forms part of a structured initiative by the academy to evaluate and honour eminent citizens who have made outstanding contributions to the development, preservation, and cultivation of national culture. The formal presentation took place on Friday, 12 June 2026, during a distinguished ceremony hosted at the National Theatre Hall Auditorium. The event commenced with the screening of a specially commissioned documentary film illustrating the life, career achievements, and historical contributions of Syed Abdul Hadi to Bengali music. Following the screening, the veteran vocalist was formally escorted onto the stage, where dignitaries presented him with the official honorary memento.
