Police Commissioners Reshuffle Officers Across Five Stations

The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has executed an administrative reshuffle altering the leadership positions of the Officers-in-Charge (OC) across five distinct police stations within its urban jurisdiction. This structural reorganisation was officially formalised on Monday, 15 June 2026, through a departmental gazette notification issued under the direct signature of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali.

According to the specific details outlined within the published gazette notification, Mohammad Solaiman has been relieved of his executive responsibilities as the Officer-in-Charge of Khulshi Police Station. Following his removal from this specific command position, he has been reassigned to the Special Branch (City SB) of the metropolitan force. Concurrently, Mozammel Haq, an unarmed police inspector who was previously operating within the City Special Branch, has been officially appointed to assume the vacant position of Officer-in-Charge at Khulshi Police Station.

The administrative order further directed the relocation of Md. Shahinoor Alam, who was serving as the Officer-in-Charge of Karnafuli Police Station. He has been transferred and assigned to serve as the new Officer-in-Charge of Double Mooring Police Station. To fill the vacancy created by his departure at Karnafuli Police Station, Kazi Masud Ibne Anwar, an unarmed police inspector from the City Special Branch, has been given the responsibility of executing the duties of Officer-in-Charge for the Karnafuli command zone.

Additionally, Jamal Uddin Khan, the outgoing Officer-in-Charge of Double Mooring Police Station, has been transferred to the City Special Branch to serve as an unarmed police inspector. The reshuffle also affected Chawkbazar Police Station, where the current Officer-in-Charge, Babul Azad, has been officially transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) South division of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police.

In a related movement of personnel, Nur Hossain Mamun, who was holding the position of Officer-in-Charge at Chandgaon Police Station, has been reassigned to take over the post of Officer-in-Charge at Chawkbazar Police Station. To manage the vacancy left behind at Chandgaon Police Station, Jashim Uddin, an unarmed police inspector previously stationed within the Detective Branch South division, has been given the official command as the incoming Officer-in-Charge of Chandgaon Police Station.

This significant multi-station reshuffle occurred exactly one day after a separate administrative action took place at Khulshi Police Station. On the preceding day, the prior Officer-in-Charge of Khulshi Police Station, Arifur Rahman, was formally withdrawn from his post. This withdrawal followed a widely reported incident involving the physical assault and harassment of national team cricketer Naim Hasan. Immediately following the withdrawal of Arifur Rahman, Mohammad Solaiman, who was serving as the Officer-in-Charge of Bakalia Police Station at that specific time, was brought in to assume the responsibilities of Khulshi Police Station, prior to being transferred to the City Special Branch under Monday’s order.

Official sources within the Chittagong Metropolitan Police establishment have stated that these transfers and fresh postings were enacted as an essential part of a routine administrative process. The agency clarified that the primary objectives behind the timing and execution of this structural personnel rotation are to maintain the normalcy of the prevailing law and order situation across the metropolitan areas and to infuse greater dynamism into the overall operational and administrative activities of the regional police forces.
