Two Suspects Apprehended by Chhatak Police

The Chhatak Police in Sunamganj have apprehended two individuals in separate law enforcement operations. The detainees include a named suspect in an active burglary investigation and a female fugitive wanted under a court-issued warrant. Both operations were conducted successfully by the local police on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.

Arrest in Connection with Burglary Case

According to official police sources, the first operation was executed in direct response to a specific criminal complaint lodged at the Chhatak Police Station. The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Md. Imam Uddin, son of the late Abdul Kaiyum, a resident of Muktirgaon (Konapara) village within the Chhatak locality.

Imam Uddin was recorded as a primary named accused in Case No. 28, registered on 17 June 2026. The investigation is being conducted under Sections 457 and 380 of the Penal Code. These particular sections correspond to offences involving lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit an offence, alongside theft in a dwelling house. Following his location and identification, a police team placed him under arrest.

Detainment of Warranted Fugitive

In a concurrent development on the same day, a separate police detachment carried out a targeted operation in Bajna Mohal village. This intervention resulted in the arrest of a female suspect who had been evading the authorities under a court-issued arrest warrant.

The apprehended individual has been identified as Mst. Sufia Begum, aged 40, daughter of Ismail Ali, residing in Bajna Mohal village. She was a wanted fugitive in connection with the complaint register case, designated as CR Case No. 95/26 (Chhatak). Following intelligence verifying her presence in the village, officers moved in to execute the outstanding judicial warrant.

Judicial Proceedings and Official Statement

Mizanur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chhatak Police Station, officially confirmed the details of the two successful arrests to the press. He stated that the police administration had finalised all necessary legal paperwork, documentation, and formal processing required for both individuals at the station.

Following the completion of these mandatory protocols, the detainees were escorted under police custody to the relevant court of law for their preliminary judicial appearances. The authorities reiterated that regular operations remain active to ensure the execution of outstanding court warrants and the containment of local criminal activity.
