The Police Headquarters of Bangladesh has officially transferred 12 senior police officers holding the ranks of Additional Superintendent of Police and Assistant Superintendent of Police to various departments and regional stations across the country. The official administrative restructuring was formalised through a government notification signed and issued by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammad Ali Hossain Fakir, on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
These personnel adjustments represent routine operational reassignments within the civil service framework of the Bangladesh Police, an organisation operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The institutional tiers affected by this specific order include the Special Branch (SB), the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the Police Staff College, various metropolitan police commands, and several district circle offices.
Within the higher rank bracket affected by the order, several Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl SP) and Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police (Addl DC) have been instructed to assume new responsibilities:
Mohammad Tanvir Hossain: Previously serving as the Additional Superintendent of Police in the Shariatpur District, he has been transferred to the Special Branch (SB) in Dhaka.
Ripon Chandra Sarkar: Formerly the Additional Deputy Commissioner for the Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP), he has been reassigned to the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) command.
Farhana Afroz Jemi: Transferred from her position within the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to serve at the In-Service Training Centre located in the Jhenaidah District.
Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman: Moving from his role as the Additional Superintendent of Police for the Chuadanga Sadar Circle to take over the administration of the Narail Sadar Circle.
Mohammad Sayem Yusuf: Formerly stationed as the Additional Superintendent of Police for the Kotchandpur Circle in the Jhenaidah District, he has been recalled to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Dhaka.
Pahan Chakma: Previously serving as an Additional Deputy Commissioner within the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), he has been transferred to manage the In-Service Training Centre in the Naogaon District.
The administrative order further outlines the structural movement of several junior-tier gazetted officers holding the ranks of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC):
Mohammad Moshiur Rahman: Formerly an Assistant Commissioner for the Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP), he has been deployed to the 18th Armed Police Battalion (APBn) stationed in the Rangamati Hill District.
Sheikh Mohammad Nurullah: Previously working as the Assistant Superintendent of Police for the Tala Circle in the Satkhira District, he has been reassigned to lead the Damurhuda Circle in the Chuadanga District.
Farhan-ul-Imam: Transferred from his desk at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) to the Police Staff College (PSC) located in Dhaka.
S M Mahbubul Alam: Moving from his posting as an Assistant Commissioner for the Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) to join the specialized Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Mohammad Zia Latiful Islam: Formerly serving as an Assistant Superintendent of Police within the elite elite force unit, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), he has been integrated into the Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP).
Sheikh Mohammad Abdur Razzak: Transferred from his assignment as an Assistant Commissioner for the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
According to the official directive, all 12 officers are required to hand over their current responsibilities immediately to facilitate their prompt relocation to their newly designated stations.
