Mechanix Announces New Album Amid Line-up Changes

The Bangladeshi rock band Mechanix has completed two decades in the music industry. To commemorate this milestone, the band has announced the release of their second studio album. However, alongside this announcement, the band disclosed a significant change to their structural composition. Guitarist Saif Irfan and bassist Soumik Islam have officially departed from the group. Mechanix confirmed the developments via a social media post on their official Facebook page, posing the rhetorical question: “The end of a chapter, or the beginning of something new?”

In the official statement published online, Mechanix expressed gratitude toward the departing members. The post noted that Soumik Islam and Saif Irfan, described as vital companions throughout a journey shaped by shared memories, stage performances, sleepless nights in the studio, and musical bonds, would no longer be part of the current line-up. The band acknowledged that their contributions, dedication, and affection would remain permanently etched in Mechanix’s history, extending sincere well-wishes for their future endeavours.

The band’s upcoming second album is titled Ojoggo (Unfit). Elaborating on the concept of the release, the band stated that a story of a new beginning is hidden behind every departure. The statement revealed that preparations for this new chapter had been underway silently for several months. The album was described by the band not merely as a collection of songs, but as a confession, a protest, and a narrative of rising from the debris of broken dreams, delivered by a restructured Mechanix. The post concluded by advising followers that details regarding new members and forthcoming musical projects would be disclosed shortly.

Aftabuzzaman Tridib, a founding member and the lead vocalist of Mechanix, verified the institutional changes. He observed that structural transitions within a band are a natural occurrence, noting that Mechanix had navigated similar changes multiple times over its twenty-year history. Tridib specified that both Irfan and Islam had joined the band in 2018, accumulating numerous shared memories over their eight-year tenure. He stated that individual preoccupations and difficulties in allocating sufficient time to the band had persisted for some time. Despite protracted efforts by the management to resolve these operational challenges, a mutual agreement could not be reached, culminating in the formal resignations of the two musicians. Tridib added that the identities of the incoming replacements would be revealed in due course.

Regarding the release logistics for Ojoggo, Tridib confirmed that the album will feature a total of ten tracks. The distribution strategy and the recent line-up modifications are structured in the table below:
