Five-Year-Old Assaulted in Pirojpur District

A harrowing incident has come to light in the Nazirpur Upazila of Pirojpur district, Bangladesh, where a five-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to a sexual assault by a teenager. The local community has been left reeling by the gravity of the crime, which reportedly took place on the afternoon of Friday, 19 June 2026, in the remote village of Uttar Joypur, within the Sriramkathia Union.

According to the victim’s mother, the minor was lured away from her usual surroundings and taken to an abandoned house. It is alleged that while the primary teenage suspect assaulted the child inside the vacant property, an accomplice stood guard outside to prevent interception.

The disturbing ordeal only became apparent to the family later that evening when the child began showing severe signs of physical illness. Upon being questioned by her mother, the distraught five-year-old recounted the afternoon’s events, explaining that she had remained silent out of sheer terror. The perpetrator had reportedly threatened to end her life if she disclosed the assault to her parents.

Medical Response and Institutional Action

On Saturday morning, the victim’s condition worsened, prompting her family to seek immediate medical attention at the Nazirpur Upazila Health Complex. Recognising the severity of her injuries, attending physicians promptly transferred her to the larger Pirojpur District Hospital for specialised care.

Dr A.K.M. Asif Ahmed, the duty physician at Pirojpur District Hospital, confirmed that the young patient was admitted immediately upon arrival. He noted that comprehensive forensic and medical examinations were underway, adding that a conclusive medical report regarding the extent of her trauma would be issued once all clinical evaluations were complete.
