Imran and Nancy Reunite for Film Song

Popular Bangladeshi vocalists Nazmun Munira Nancy and Imran Mahmudul have reunited after a considerable gap to lend their voices together once again, rekindling a musical partnership that has long been admired by listeners. The duo has recorded a new duet for the upcoming film Shikar, titled “Dujon Mile Banchbo Ek Jibon”.

The song, written by lyricist Kabir Bakul, has been composed and musically arranged by Imran himself. Recording for the track was completed on Sunday evening, marking a notable moment for both artists as they returned to a collaboration that has previously produced several well-received songs in the country’s contemporary music scene. The track is described as a melodious composition, carrying an emotional tone that aligns closely with the narrative of the film.

Speaking after the recording session, both singers expressed enthusiasm about the project. Nancy reflected on her experience, noting that working with Imran has always been a rewarding journey. She highlighted the strength of the lyrics and composition, suggesting that the song carries a depth likely to resonate strongly with audiences. She also mentioned that it had been some time since she last performed a film song that she felt so closely connected to.

Imran, in turn, praised Nancy’s vocal contribution, describing her as one of the distinctive voices in the country’s music industry. He emphasised that performing a duet with her always carries a sense of creative significance. According to him, both artists had been anticipating this collaboration for quite some time, and he expressed confidence that listeners would not be disappointed with the outcome.

The film Shikar, directed by Kamruzzaman Roman, has also drawn attention due to its production background. The director previously indicated that the project would be based on a real-life incident linked to the Bangladesh border region, shaping a narrative rooted in tension and human conflict. Unlike conventional romantic storytelling often associated with lead actress Apu Biswas, the film is set to explore a thriller genre, marking a shift in tone for her role.

Roman further revealed that principal shooting is scheduled to take place in Nepal, with the production team preparing for an uninterrupted filming schedule across various scenic locations. He expressed hope that the audience would be offered a fresh cinematic experience through the project.

The film features Apu Biswas and Murtaza Palash in lead roles, alongside performances from veteran actor Barda Mithu, Rashed Mamun Apu, and several others in significant supporting characters. Cinematography is being handled by Saiful Shahin, while the production is being carried out under the banner of Reza Films Production.

Imran and Nancy have previously delivered a number of popular duet songs, and their return together for a major film soundtrack has already generated renewed interest among both music and cinema enthusiasts.
