Harry Styles Breaks Wembley Residency Record With 12 Shows

Harry Styles has secured a place in music history after setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest concert residency by a solo artist or group in a single run at Wembley Stadium.

The British singer achieved the milestone by completing a remarkable 12-show residency at the iconic London venue as part of his “Together, Together” tour. The achievement surpassed the previous record held by Coldplay, which staged 10 consecutive concerts at Wembley.

Styles was presented with the Guinness World Record recognition after the final performance of his London run. Guinness World Records adjudicator Will Munford praised the accomplishment, describing it as a reflection of the scale, ambition and cultural influence of Styles’ live performances, as well as the strong connection he has built with audiences around the world.

The final concert attracted around 80,000 fans, bringing the total attendance across the 12 sold-out Wembley shows to hundreds of thousands. The performance marked the conclusion of the London section of the tour, which was originally planned as a six-night engagement before additional dates were added due to overwhelming demand.

During the closing show, Styles took a moment to reflect on his journey from a young contestant on a television talent programme to becoming one of the world’s most successful solo performers. Standing on the Wembley stage, he paid tribute to his former bandmates from One Direction, acknowledging the role they played in shaping his career.

“I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for four friends of mine that were a massive part of this journey,” Styles told the audience, expressing gratitude to Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne. He said their friendship and shared experiences were central to his success.

One Direction was formed on The X Factor UK in 2010 and later became one of the biggest pop groups of the decade before announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2016. Payne died in 2024 at the age of 31.

Styles also spoke about his emotional connection with Wembley, recalling that the stadium complex was linked to the early stages of his career. He noted that 16 years earlier, he had taken part in the process that led to the formation of One Direction, an event that changed the course of his life.

Since launching his solo career in 2017, Styles has established himself as a major force in global music. His achievements include six Brit Awards, three Grammy Awards and two Ivor Novello Awards. His fourth studio album, “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally”, was released in January, continuing his evolution as an artist known for blending pop, rock and contemporary influences.

Ahead of the final Wembley performance, the stadium honoured the milestone with a commemorative banner celebrating Styles’ achievement. The venue highlighted the significance of the residency as a new chapter in Wembley’s long and historic association with major live music events.

Other major artists have also held extended performances at Wembley in recent years, including Taylor Swift, who performed eight shows at the stadium in 2024. However, Styles’ 12-show run now stands as the longest single residency of its kind at the venue.

Following the completion of the UK performances, Styles is scheduled to continue his tour with concerts in Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Australia, where the tour is expected to conclude in December. His Wembley achievement adds another landmark moment to a career that has steadily expanded from teenage pop stardom to global musical success.
