Unidentified Patient Dies at Dighinala Upazila Health Complex

An unidentified man has passed away while undergoing emergency medical treatment at the Dighinala Upazila Health Complex in Khagrachhari. Authorities confirmed that despite continuous care from medical staff, the patient succumbed to his illness at around midnight on Tuesday, 21 July. His identity remains unknown, prompting local officials to launch an appeal for assistance.

The circumstances surrounding his admission began on Monday, 20 July, when an auto-rickshaw driver brought the critically ill individual to the health centre. The driver assisted in placing the patient inside the emergency ward but departed shortly afterwards without leaving any contact details or identifying information. Left with an ailing patient in critical condition, hospital personnel immediately initiated medical care.

Medical staff at the facility worked to stabilise the man’s deteriorating health over the following hours. Attending doctors and nurses administered necessary treatments and monitored his condition closely. However, his physical health continued to decline rapidly, ultimately leading to his death late on Tuesday night. Hospital administration notified local police shortly after his demise.

Officers from Dighinala Police Station arrived at the medical facility to inspect the body and commence formal identification procedures. Standard administrative protocols are currently underway to trace the deceased man’s relatives or background. Police confirmed that necessary legal measures, including post-mortem procedures, will follow once his identity is established.

Confirming the details, Dr Md Ali Majrui Rahman, the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, stated that healthcare personnel executed all available medical measures to save the patient’s life. He noted that the hospital administration is maintaining close coordination with law enforcement agencies to identify the deceased. Both police officers and health authorities have urged members of the public who might have relevant information regarding the man to contact either Dighinala Police Station or the Dighinala Upazila Health Complex without delay.
