The capital is preparing to host a distinctive blend of international football royalty and local musical talent as the ‘Soccarama’ event convenes on 18th August at the United Convention Centre. Jointly curated by Link3 Technologies and Affordable Venture Limited, the festivities are scheduled to commence at 3:00 pm, offering a grand platform where Bangladesh’s passion for sport and live performance intersect.
The central figure of the occasion is the revered former Argentine international forward, Claudio Caniggia. Celebrated globally for his crucial contributions during the 1990 and 1994 FIFA World Cup campaigns, Caniggia holds legendary status among football aficionados. His decisive strike against Brazil in the 1990 tournament remains one of the most iconic moments in World Cup history. Bangladesh has long maintained a deeply passionate relationship with Argentine football, and Caniggia’s guest appearance in Dhaka serves as the primary inspiration for this grand cultural gathering.
To mark the occasion, four of Bangladesh’s premier contemporary bands—Chirkutt, Artcell, Nemesis, and Odd Signature—will perform live sets in honour of the visiting sporting star. The musical lineup features some of the most influential figures in modern Bengali rock and alternative music. The performing groups expressed their anticipation across social channels, with Chirkutt voicing their excitement at entertaining a global sports hero. Members of Nemesis and Odd Signature similarly remarked that uniting sports enthusiasm with live musical performances would create a uniquely energetic atmosphere for attendees.
Advance entry passes are currently being distributed exclusively through the Ticketify online portal. To cater to diverse preferences, the organisers have introduced three separate pricing tiers. Given the strong local demand for both high-profile sporting appearances and live musical events, the venue is expected to draw a large gathering of spectators from across the capital.
