Police Diary Filed Against Taskin Ahmed Over Assault Allegation

A General Diary (GD) has been lodged against Bangladeshi cricketer Taskin Ahmed, accusing him of assaulting and threatening a man after summoning him over the phone. The incident reportedly took place on Sunday night in Mirpur-1, Dhaka, and was officially recorded at Mirpur Model Police Station the same evening.

Though no official statement was given by police officers, a source from the station confirmed to Prothom Alo that the complaint against Taskin is genuine and an investigation is already underway.

Allegation Details:

According to the complaint:

  • Taskin allegedly called Sourav and asked him to meet.
  • Upon arrival, Sourav was physically assaulted (punched and beaten) and threatened.
  • The two were reportedly friends prior to the incident.

Attempts to contact Taskin for comment were unsuccessful. His phone remained switched off and he did not respond to WhatsApp calls. His father, Abdur Rashid, was also unreachable.
