Kent completed the victory during the final session on the fourth day at Canterbury on Saturday. Chasing a daunting target of 390 runs in the fourth innings, Worcestershire were eventually bowled out for 295. Hasan was the architect of the collapse, taking three for 51 in the second innings following his impressive first-innings display of four for 68.

The Bangladeshi international had previously claimed 12 wickets in two matches for Kent, prompting the county side to re-sign him for another spell. Hasan rewarded their faith immediately. Across his three appearances for the club this season, the fast bowler has now accumulated 19 wickets at an exceptional average of just 18.31.

Hasan’s intervention on the final day proved crucial in dismantling Worcestershire’s resistance. He broke a threatening 76-run partnership by trapping Adam Hose leg-before-wicket, before uprooting the stumps of Henry Cullen to end another dangerous 86-run stand. With Worcestershire positioned at 265 for five, Hasan struck again, removing Ben Allison leg-before to claim his third victim of the innings.

His fellow pacemen provided valuable support throughout the final day. South African bowler Keith Dudgeon registered three for 63, while English seamer Matt Milnes returned figures of three for 51, including the final wicket that sealed the match. New Zealand fast bowler Matt Quinn chipped in with the remaining wicket.

Worcestershire captain Brett D’Oliveira produced a valiant captain’s knock, remaining unbeaten on 103 off 221 balls, an innings decorated with 12 boundaries. However, his century proved insufficient as Worcestershire crumbled, losing their final five wickets for just 30 runs once the tail was exposed.

The victory elevates Kent to second place in the Division Two standings, bolstering their campaign for promotion to the top tier. Kent now sit on 170 points from 11 matches, trailing division leaders Durham, who hold 210 points from the same number of fixtures, with just three rounds remaining in the season.
