Global trade channels continue to expand across South Asia, driving consistent demand for international currency conversion as domestic enterprises process foreign commercial transactions and cross-border settlements.
According to financial figures released by Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, the Bangladeshi taka maintained steady positions against key reserve currencies and regional trading partner units. In the foreign exchange market, the US dollar settled at Tk 122.72, while the euro traded at Tk 140.66. The British pound stood at Tk 163.99, reflecting ongoing valuation shifts across major Western currency pairings.
Overseas remittances sent through formal banking networks by non-resident Bangladeshi workers remain a pivotal source of foreign currency liquidity. These capital inflows, combined with export earnings, bolster national reserves and support import payments for crucial industrial raw materials, capital machinery, and essential consumer goods. Because broader macroeconomic metrics—including Gross Domestic Product (GDP) calculations and national per capita income—are benchmarked against international currency standards, daily exchange fluctuations remain closely monitored by financial institutions, importers, and policy planners alike.
Across Western and Asian financial markets, the Australian dollar recorded a rate of Tk 87.32, closely mirrored by the Canadian dollar at Tk 87.41. The Japanese yen traded at Tk 0.78 per yen, while the Singapore dollar stood at Tk 96.13. Within the Nordic region, the Swedish krona was quoted at Tk 12.46.
