Police have confirmed the identity of one of the deceased as 23-year-old Joy Singh, son of Amrito Singh, hailing from Majdihi village in the Bhairabganj Bazar area of Sreemangal. The identities of the remaining two victims could not be established immediately following the crash.

According to eyewitnesses and police personnel, an ‘Alam Asia Paribahan’ passenger bus bound for Mirpur from Sreemangal collided head-on with a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction upon reaching the Lachna area. The collision crushed the smaller vehicle, leaving all three occupants with severe injuries and causing heavy bleeding that led to their deaths at the scene.

Medical staff at the Sreemangal Upazila Health Complex confirmed that emergency responders brought the three individuals to the facility around 9:00 pm. Dr Naveed Raiyan Bin Shahid, an attending emergency physician at the hospital, stated that all three victims had succumbed to their injuries before arrival.

Mamunur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of the Satgaon Highway Police Station, confirmed that police officers recovered the three bodies from the crash site. Authorities identified Joy Singh using the national identity card found in his pocket, whilst efforts continue to verify the identities of the other two deceased individuals. The bodies remain at the Sreemangal Upazila Health Complex morgue. Highway police confirmed that the remains will be handed over to their respective families following post-mortem examinations and the completion of necessary legal formalities.
