Raef Al Hasan Rafa is set to mark a new chapter in his musical journey with a special solo concert in Dhaka, bringing together his latest work with a reunion of musicians associated with Aurthohin’s ‘Aushomapto’ line-up.
Titled ‘Eto Boka Keno Tumi’, the concert will be held at InterContinental Dhaka on 2 October. The event will celebrate the release of Rafa’s new album of the same name and will feature several familiar figures from an important period in Bangladesh’s rock music scene.
Among the evening’s main attractions will be a reunion featuring Bassbaba Sumon, Raef Al Hasan Rafa, Shishir Ahmed and Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal. The four musicians are associated with Aurthohin’s ‘Aushomapto’ line-up and are scheduled to share the stage at the concert.
The event also marks the latest stage in Rafa’s long association with Bangladesh’s rock music. He has remained active in the country’s music scene for around two decades, with his career including work with influential bands such as Aurthohin and Cryptic Fate. He later formed AvoidRafa, developing another platform for his musical ideas and creative direction.
Rafa’s new album, ‘Eto Boka Keno Tumi’, features a collection of songs by AvoidRafa. The project reflects the band’s evolving sound, ideas and experiences, while continuing to draw on the energy and identity that have characterised Rafa’s work over the years.
The concert will give audiences an opportunity to hear songs from the new album in a live setting. Rafa will also perform several of his familiar tracks, including ‘Cholo Arekbar Uri’, ‘Tumi Daklei Firbo’ and ‘Ami Akash Pathabo’.
Beyond the performances, Rafa will share stories and experiences from different stages of his musical career. The segment is expected to offer audiences a more personal perspective on the artist’s journey, from his involvement with established rock bands to his current work with AvoidRafa.
