Bangladesh’s rock music scene is set to revisit the spirit of the 1990s as two of its most celebrated performers, James of Nagar Baul and Hasan of Ark, prepare to appear at the same concert in Dhaka.
The event, titled ‘Rock N Rhythm 5.0: No Limits in the Zone’, will take place on Friday, 16 October, at Carnival Arena in Jamuna Future Park in the capital. The reunion of the two popular rock musicians is expected to attract fans who have followed Bangladesh’s band music scene for decades.
According to an announcement by event organiser Adventor Communication on social media, the concert will feature Nagar Baul and Ark alongside three other well-known Bangladeshi bands: Warfaze, Aurthohin and Shunno.
The diverse line-up is expected to offer audiences an opportunity to enjoy performances by some of the country’s most recognisable names in rock music. The participation of artists from different periods of Bangladesh’s band music history is also likely to appeal to listeners with varied musical tastes.
James has remained one of Bangladesh’s most prominent rock performers, known for his distinctive voice, energetic stage presence and enduring popularity. Hasan, the lead vocalist associated with Ark, has also earned a strong following through his unique singing style and contribution to the country’s band music scene.
Both artists became familiar names among rock enthusiasts during the rise of Bangladeshi band music in the 1990s. Their appearance at the same event is therefore expected to be a major attraction, particularly for fans who grew up listening to their songs.
Guitarist Oni Hasan is also scheduled to make a special appearance with Warfaze. In addition to performing with the band, he will deliver a solo performance. Musician A K Rahul is also expected to perform at the concert.
The organisers have confirmed that all necessary administrative permissions for the event have been secured, clearing the way for the concert to proceed as planned.
Advance ticket sales began on Monday, 12 October, through Tickify.live. Tickets have been priced at Tk 999.
With five established bands and several recognised musicians on the bill, ‘Rock N Rhythm 5.0: No Limits in the Zone’ is shaping up to be a notable gathering for Bangladesh’s rock music community.
However, the organisers have not confirmed whether James and Hasan will perform a song together or provided a detailed schedule for the individual performances.
