Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Rates Released Amid Currency Market Adjustments

The central bank of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bank, has published the latest foreign exchange rates for major foreign currencies against the Bangladeshi taka. According to the monetary authority’s benchmark updates, the local currency continues to reflect prevailing supply and demand dynamics across international trade and remittance channels.

Under the latest rate structure, the US dollar is quoted at a buying rate of 123.50 taka and a selling rate of 123.30 taka. The British pound remains among the strongest currencies traded in the domestic financial market, standing at a buying rate of 163.07 taka and a selling rate of 163.24 taka. The euro maintains a steady position, trading at 138.05 taka for purchases and 138.12 taka for sales. Amongst regional currencies, the Indian rupee trades at an equal buying and selling rate of 1.27 taka.

Transactions involving other major international currencies display similar stability across authorised dealer banks. The Australian dollar is priced at a buying rate of 86.05 taka and a selling rate of 86.16 taka, while the Singapore dollar stands at 96.21 taka buying and 96.30 taka selling. For key Asian trading partners, the Chinese yuan is set at 18.41 taka buying and 18.42 taka selling, whereas the Japanese yen trades at 0.78 taka for both buying and selling.

Foreign currency values published by Bangladesh Bank serve as the core benchmark for commercial institutions, import-export settlements, and personal banking transactions nationwide. Maintaining alignment between official rates and market reality remains pivotal for the national economy. Transparent pricing encourages expatriate workers to channel remittances through formal banking routes rather than informal transfer networks, providing vital support to national foreign exchange reserves.

At the same time, clear exchange rate visibility assists domestic businesses in managing import costs for essential commodities, raw materials, and industrial machinery. Export-oriented industries, particularly the readymade garment sector, also depend on predictable currency valuation to preserve international competitiveness. As global financial markets react to shifting trade policies and interest rate adjustments, tracking daily exchange rate movements remains essential for commercial banks, corporate planners, and everyday consumers alike.
