In a press conference held late Saturday night, Lieutenant Colonel Nazim, commander of the Daring Tigers under the 46 Independent Infantry Brigade, shared details of the operation.

He explained, “We received information that these items—sharp weapons—were being supplied covertly to terrorists from a certain location. They were also being sold secretly and even rented out. Sometimes, free delivery or home delivery services were being offered. Through various media, we learned that these items were being handed over to terrorists from a particular place in Dhaka.”

Lieutenant Colonel Nazim further elaborated, “The terrorists we arrested admitted that they were receiving these samurai-style weapons from one location. Based on this, we initiated an intelligence operation. Over several days, our intelligence officers conducted reconnaissance in various locations to identify where these sharp weapons could be found. Acting on this information, we raided three to four shops in New Market on Saturday, successfully recovering the weapons.”

The military officer added, “We have arrested nine individuals connected with this illegal activity. The primary weapons were seized from three shops. Over the past few months, we have observed that terrorists prefer to use such local weapons. Large quantities of these weapons have been stockpiled in the last three to four months and have been spotted in the hands of various terrorists.”
