The Russian military announced on Wednesday that it has captured two villages near Dobropillia, a former coal mining town in eastern Ukraine still under Ukrainian control.
Moscow’s Defence Ministry posted on social media, stating:
“The settlements of Suvorovo and Nikanorivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic have been liberated.”
These locations are situated in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, a key area of ongoing conflict.

The capture of these villages forms part of Russia’s continued military operations in Donetsk, where battles for territorial control remain intense.
No independent confirmation of the Russian claims was immediately available. Ukrainian authorities have not yet released statements regarding the situation in Suvorovo and Nikanorivka.
