Case Filed Over Stone Looting in Bholaganj: 1,500 Accused

The Ministry of Mineral Resources has filed a case against 1,500 unidentified individuals in connection with the large-scale looting of white stones from the Bholaganj stone quarry in Sylhet.

According to police, the case was lodged at Companyganj Police Station on the night of Friday, 15 August, against unnamed perpetrators. The matter was confirmed by Officer-in-Charge Uzair Al Mahmud Adnan.

Police Statement

Speaking on the matter, OC Uzair Al Mahmud Adnan said: “The Ministry of Mineral Resources has filed a case accusing between 1,000 and 1,500 individuals over the stone looting and theft at Bholaganj quarry. Our operations to identify and apprehend those involved are ongoing.”
