Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has returned home after receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
He arrived at his residence in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Wednesday, 20 August, after being discharged from United Hospital.
Mirza Fakhrul was admitted to United Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, 19 August, at around 1:00 am.
A post on his verified Facebook account on Wednesday morning confirmed that his current physical condition is stable, and he requested prayers from the public for his wellbeing.
According to BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan, Mirza Fakhrul had recently returned from Thailand, where he underwent treatment for his eyes.
He reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday evening and subsequently attended a meeting in Gulshan until approximately 11:00 pm.
Following the meeting, he reportedly fell unwell, which necessitated his admission to United Hospital at 1:00 am.
Mirza Fakhrul’s return home marks the conclusion of this brief hospitalisation, and he continues to recover under care.
