For nearly a year, Shakib Al Hasan has been participating in franchise tournaments across the globe. A new T10 franchise tournament, the Canada Super Sixty League, is set to commence on 8 October in Canada. Shakib will represent the Montreal Tigers in this six-team competition.
The squads for the Canada Super Sixty League have already been announced. Alongside Shakib, international stars such as David Malan, Quinton de Kock, Martin Guptill, Sikandar Raza, Moeen Ali, Piyush Chawla, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz will also participate.
Previously, Shakib played in another Canadian T20 franchise tournament, the Global T20, representing the Montreal Tigers. He will once again play for the same team in this new league. His squad includes familiar names such as Tom Moores, Josh Brown, Nick Hobson, Isuru Udana, and Andrew Tye.
Currently, Shakib is playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. He has also participated in various other franchise leagues, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL). In the near future, he is scheduled to play in a minor league in the United States.
Although Shakib remains active in franchise cricket worldwide, he has been absent from the Bangladesh national team for a considerable period, and there seems to be little indication of a return in the near future.
