Senior Joint Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, has expressed confidence that the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) would emerge victorious in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections, provided the polls are held in a free and fair manner.
Rizvi stated: “Chhatra Dal is a party of struggle, movement, and ideology. If Dhaka University students are able to exercise their voting rights freely, the JCD panel will win.”
He made these remarks on Wednesday, 3 September, while speaking at a discussion meeting held before a rally organised by Dhaka District BNP to mark the 47th founding anniversary of the BNP.
Referring to the ongoing political debate regarding the Proportional Representation (PR) system, Rizvi criticised other political parties for suddenly raising the issue without public demand.
