A French ceramics museum in Limoges was targeted by thieves overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, resulting in losses estimated at €9.5 million, local authorities confirmed.
The Adrien Dubouché National Museum, located in the central French city of Limoges, reported that two pieces of Chinese porcelain were stolen during the break-in, according to police sources and the Haute-Vienne prefecture.

The museum’s alarm system was activated at 3:15 am local time (0115 GMT), alerting authorities to the burglary, a police source told AFP.
The stolen items were loaned from a private collection specifically for a temporary exhibition, as reported by Paris Match.
The Adrien Dubouché National Museum is renowned for its extensive collection of porcelain, housing approximately 18,000 works, including the largest public collection of Limoges porcelain. Its collection spans historic and contemporary ceramics, making it one of the most prestigious ceramics museums in France.
Authorities are investigating the theft, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
